Requirements

  • Experience in analyzing production times and crew size requirements based on workflows, time studies, and throughput analyses.
  • Metal manufacturing, powder coating, and material handling process improvement experience
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP or similar)
  • Project management experience desired
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to promote Continuous Improvement
  • Self-driven and results oriented
  • 2D CAD and/or 3D Solid Modeling experience required
  • BS Degree in an engineering field required
  • 2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety and identify opportunities for improvements in worker safety throughout the facility.
  • Determine and review all manufacturing processes for effectiveness and feasibility.
  • Evaluate efficiencies, machine capabilities and limitations, process improvements, production cost reduction, and increased throughput opportunities.
  • Work closely with production team members to solve problems and continuously improve processes.
  • Investigates, suggests, and implements cost saving projects or value-added engineering projects.
  • Assist with work cell layouts, analyzes and designs layout of equipment.
  • Work closely with Product Engineering team members to alter product designs for improved manufacturability.
  • Manage execution of manufacturing engineering projects to ensure on-time and on-budget performance for capital expenditure projects.
  • Assist with evaluation of capital equipment justification calculations.
  • Assist with developing production time estimation calculations based on validation data collected from current processes.
  • Present findings of a time study or other type of analysis to management that is clear and concise using verbal, written, and visual materials.
  • Assist Tool & Die department with manufacturing improvements.
  • Assist maintenance department with equipment upgrade, installation, and repair projects.
