About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering position supports multiple programs in the Owego Machining Center. In addition to program coordination, typical manufacturing engineering activities include creation of MBOMs, Master Routings, Production Readiness Reviews, and Design for Manufacturing assessments. This is an engineering position requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as demonstrated experience in machining, additive manufacturing and mechanical assembly processes. The engineer will provide full engineering oversight to all technical performance of the manufacturing processes of the program. The engineer will work closely with CNC programmers, machinists, operators and other engineers to solve problems on the manufacturing floor and drive improvements. This position will also be the primary interface with the MPM (Manufacturing Program Manager) for the program in providing all of the technical insight, production performance hours, and material selections based on process assessments in forming the overall manufacturing plan.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing Engineering skills as related to machining and mechanical assembly operations
  • Ability to interpret an engineering drawing/build instruction/process procedure
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering role, (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, etc.) with a manufacturing operations focus

  • Previous SAP experience
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Ability to effectively communicate the intent of drawings/work instructions to manufacturing personnel
  • Design for manufacturability experience
