About The Position

The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, providing technical support to all stages on the manufacturing process utilizing Lean tools to achieve business goals. This role involves providing engineering support in lean, quality, productivity, ergonomics, and safety. The Manufacturing Engineer will monitor and improve manufacturing processes, maintain continuous manufacturing flow, and reduce costs. They will support the production team to fulfill manufacturing commitments and assure compliance with Manufacturing-Quality procedures and EHS regulations. A key aspect of this role is to identify, lead, and drive projects for cost reduction and to use Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve efficiency and reduce waste. The position also focuses on improving process capabilities and capacity, leading and supporting equipment maintenance, and supporting plant initiative programs by engaging employees and leading change implementation. Any other tasks required by their supervisor will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Speak, read and write English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrate problem solving, qualitative and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage/lead multiple priorities.
  • Excellent administrative communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in process improvement and team building.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Customer service oriented.

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and Green Belt training desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support in lean, quality, productivity, ergonomics and safety.
  • Monitor and improve manufacturing processes, maintaining continuous manufacturing flow and reducing costs.
  • Support production team to fulfill manufacturing commitments.
  • Assure compliance Manufacturing-Quality procedures and EHS regulations.
  • Identify, lead and drive projects to deliver cost reduction.
  • Use Lean Manufacturing concepts to drive projects cost reduction & lead projects to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Improve process capabilities and capacity in manufacturing areas.
  • Lead and support equipment maintenance.
  • Support plant initiative programs, engage employees and lead to implement changes.
  • Perform any other tasks required by their supervisor.
