About The Position

This role focuses on improving production efficiencies and throughput by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools. The Manufacturing Engineer will conduct root cause analysis, prepare feasibility studies, and evaluate improvements to reduce costs in engineering and manufacturing applications. The position involves identifying methodologies and processes to increase productivity and efficiency, managing major projects, and overseeing outside vendors and resources. Additionally, the role includes leading 5S/Continuous Improvement teams during Kaizen events, assisting in training personnel on new equipment start-up, troubleshooting problems, and using time and motion studies to establish accurate standards. The engineer will also assist in equipment selection, identify automation opportunities, and collaborate with Product Engineering on manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience in value analysis and cost reduction.
  • Skills in Project Management.
  • Experience managing outside vendors and resources.
  • Experience leading 5S/Continuous Improvement teams and Kaizen events.
  • Knowledge of time & motion studies.
  • Experience in equipment analysis and selection.
  • Understanding of automation justification.
  • Experience training personnel on new equipment start-up.
  • Ability to work with Product Engineering on manufacturability.

Responsibilities

  • Improve efficiencies and through-put with production supervisors/Managers.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis for problem solving.
  • Make optimum utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to assist in preparing feasibility studies and ensure costs are justified.
  • Evaluate improvements, create value analysis, and reduce costs in engineering and manufacturing applications.
  • Identify methodology and processes to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage major projects using Project Management programs, including management of outside vendors for timely completion.
  • Manage outside resources identified with related projects.
  • Lead 5S/Continuous Improvement teams during Kaizen events.
  • Assist in training of personnel in new equipment start up.
  • Troubleshoot problems as necessary.
  • Use time & motion studies to ensure optimum and accurate standards for new and existing products.
  • Assist in analyzing and selecting equipment to be purchased.
  • Identify processes where automation may be justified.
  • Lead training of personnel in new equipment start-up.
  • Work with Product Engineering on manufacturability of product.
