About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for completing manufacturing projects as assigned by the LEAN Manager. This role involves supporting Lean Manufacturing projects and Continuous Improvement initiatives. The intern will produce production metrics, create display boards, perform time studies to establish production standards, and utilize Solid Works for creating drawings of tools, parts, and workstations. Additionally, the intern will create SOPs and Work Instructions. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or university in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
  • Required to wear PPE in specified areas.
  • Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture, be exemplary in terms of health, safety and the environment.
  • Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules)
  • Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to superiors and/or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection
  • Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks
  • Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope
  • Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work
  • Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
  • To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
