About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting Engineering and Operations in the design, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes. The intern will assist with troubleshooting production equipment and manufacturing systems, develop and update standardized work instructions and maintenance procedures, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves supporting equipment reliability and uptime improvement projects, new equipment installations, documentation, training, and handoff activities. Collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams is key, providing exposure to PLCs, robotics, welding processes, and automated manufacturing equipment. The intern will maintain compliance with company quality, environmental, and safety standards and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Preferably two or more years remaining until graduation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to move throughout the manufacturing facility safely and efficiently
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs while supporting plant operations
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, tools, and equipment up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments for extended periods
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, and other PPE as required
  • Visual acuity sufficient to review engineering drawings, analyze data, inspect equipment, and identify process or quality concerns
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical equipment and active production processes while following all safety requirements
  • Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or technical experience preferred
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
