The Manufacturing Engineer II is a problem-solver, facilitator, change agent, innovator, resource, designer and project manager. Responsible for performing these functions on issues as they are assigned (or arise) in the designated area. This role involves championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and successfully completing small to medium-sized projects of medium complexity. The engineer will evaluate needs, analyze options, develop plans, create Appropriation Requests (ARs), and manage project implementation. They will also assist and guide support personnel in technical matters, develop and maintain optimum processes for safe and productive manufacturing of quality products, and develop procedures and provide training on new processes, tools, and equipment. This includes defining Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements and performing mechanical evaluations. The role also coordinates corrections to production problems using sound manufacturing engineering techniques and develops alternate methods or processes for emergency production when needed, evaluating these solutions using sound engineering economy techniques. Demonstrating regular attendance, timeliness, and the ability to work well with others are also key functions.
