A Day in the Life As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you’ll play a critical role in supporting life-changing medical technologies by ensuring high-performing, reliable injection molding processes that directly impact product quality and patient outcomes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong plastics and injection molding background who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys solving complex process challenges. In this role, you will support and optimize injection molding operations for the Neuro Modulation and Pelvic Health portfolio. You’ll focus on maintaining process performance, improving yield, and ensuring equipment and tooling are operating at peak efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience OR Advanced Degree with 0 years of related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with injection molding and plastics processing
  • Experience supporting medical device or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of mold tooling, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with SPC, process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Experience working with external vendors and suppliers
  • Ability to analyze data and drive data-informed decisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for injection molding processes to maintain and improve yield and product quality
  • Evaluate and maintain mold components including cavities, mold bases, and core pins, with direct impact on process output
  • Partner with external vendors to manage mold maintenance and spare parts, ensuring timely repairs and availability
  • Design and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for efficiency and scalability
  • Optimize machine and equipment layouts to enhance workflow and productivity within the facility
  • Develop and refine process sequences and tooling specifications that impact product performance
  • Adapt equipment and process designs to align with real-world production conditions
  • Incorporate inspection and testing requirements into production processes as needed
  • Monitor equipment performance and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve issues
  • Apply and develop statistical process control (SPC) methods to improve consistency and reduce variation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide design for manufacturability (DFM) guidance to engineering teams
  • Ensure all processes comply with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., FDA, ISO)
