About The Position

Manufacturing Engineer I has overall responsibility for assigned production manufacturing process design and sustainment for Safety, Quality-focused, efficient and cost-effective results.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience
  • 1-2 years related work experience preferred; however, this is an entry-level role
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Six-Sigma preferred
  • Ability to work independently but in a collaborative nature.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • U.S Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, efficient and accurate layout plan based on local standards.
  • Maintain appropriate line balance based on current state demand volumes.
  • Maintain standard work processes/work instructions. Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, update for best known method to drive Safety, Quality and Throughput.
  • Maintain dataset for each discrete operation (Cycle Times, Job-Difficulty Rating, # of Workstations, Safety Score, etc.).
  • Understand (at all times) assigned product line capacities at current and future demand volumes. Understand and work towards alleviating process and equipment constraints to growth.
  • Maintain accurate work content through standard time studies.
  • Under guidance from a more senior engineer, utilize Lean Principles and Engineering Best Practices to drive continual improvements to manufacturing and supporting processes.
  • Urgent response to line disruption issues.
  • Kaizen event participant.
  • Under guidance of a lead engineer, drive continual improvement to operational metrics (Cycle Times, Sq. Ft., Downtime, OEE/OPE, Work Content, Labor $/Unit, Material $/Unit, units/person, etc.) through process equipment development, material consumption reduction, process improvement, and other personal initiatives.
  • Represent manufacturing in cross-departmental activates such as MRB, design reviews, failure analysis, Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping.
