About The Position

Cadrex is searching for a Precision Sheet Metal Manufacturing Engineer I to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; and coordinates the manufacturing launch for new or revised products. This role involves developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and conferring with equipment vendors. The engineer will evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify potential areas of improvement, carry out process improvement, problem resolution, and project management, and improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency. Responsibilities also include preparing and presenting plans for improvements, coordinating deployment including training of team members, performing research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment, and preparing and maintaining detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. The role coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results. Additionally, the engineer will create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals and performance quotas, establish an effective and efficient work sequence, and devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems. The position requires designing, developing, and testing sources and cost-justifying various tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods, and performing product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, safety, improved efficiency, and training opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment. May use equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
