About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will be responsible for performing material processing and fixture / mold design work to support programs including polyurethane, composite, rubber, and/or metallic materials. Design and develop fabrication and material processing methodologies for development programs. Design and build fixtures and shop aids to support development programs. Document designs and fabrication methods. Meet project schedule and costs. Plan and conduct work requiring sound engineering judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Perform various risk assessments and develop processes that comply with RTX standards in regards to Environmental, Health and Safety, including ergonomics. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Work with floor supervisors to achieve schedule and address technical issues. Interface with shop floor personnel for the purpose of communicating technical information and promoting the technical image of RTX. Knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of Continuous Improvement (Lean manufacturing/ACE/Toyota Production System).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computer aided design (CAD) software and SAP
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience
  • Previous experience in design & production environment and polyurethane processing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint)
