About The Position

Airbus Americas, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer I for its A320 Engineering Department at the U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama. This on-site role provides technical shop-floor support on the second shift. The engineer assesses manufacturing non-conformities and late changes affecting production, supports production teams with technical questions and interpretation of work orders and drawings—particularly for aircraft mechanical work—and identifies opportunities to improve manufacturing processes. The position maintains effective communication with Final Assembly Line (FAL) production and interfaces with the on-site back office to adapt work orders. The role is divided evenly between handling non-conformities and continuous improvement. It includes creating and validating technical work orders for FAL rework across cabin, systems, electrical, or structural work by station; providing technical support on production issues and directed changes; improving work instructions so they provide appropriate information for aircraft assembly; and initiating availability of replacement parts, jigs, and tools. The engineer also works with Quality on recurring non-conformities and supports Manufacturing Engineering activities on the FAL. The successful candidate will learn from current team members and follow assigned training plans, may help orient new colleagues and trainees, and may take on other projects and duties as assigned. The role requires 5% domestic and international travel and eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. It involves work in office and production areas and requires use of specified personal protective equipment during shop-floor visits.
