About The Position

The Electrical Manufacturing Engineer, based in Middlefield (CT) provides technical leadership and engineering support for the manufacture of advanced electro-mechanical, electronic, and optical products. This role is responsible for manufacturing process development, new product introduction, test solutions, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will ensure that our product builds are efficient, tested effectively, and meet our quality and performance standards. The position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams to drive operational excellence and product reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, electrical, or related engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting electronic assemblies, electrical subsystems, and manufacturing test processes; experience with complex instrumentation, optical systems, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, or other high-technology products.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, troubleshoot to the component level, and develop manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project execution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of automated test systems, fiber optics, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies preferred.
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, C#, MATLAB) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for production operations, resolving technical issues and improving manufacturing performance, quality, and yield.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and electro-optical assemblies and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production readiness activities.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and test methods to support efficient, scalable production.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing test solutions, validation methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze test results and drive corrective actions to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing, supplier, and field issues.
  • Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Service teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product and process performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to manufacturing personnel as needed.
