About The Position

Hardy Diagnostics, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Santa Maria, CA. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a passion for excellence who wants to contribute to one of Santa Barbara County's top employers. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to enhance operational efficiency and resolve product or operational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, industrial technology, or another 4-year engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial engineering experience.
  • Some travel will be required, including travel to our Ohio facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Competency in CAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and designs workplace layouts and material handling methods to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and equipment.
  • Leads or participates in teams focused on reducing waste in manufacturing processes, including kaizen teams.
  • Manages projects involving the specification of new equipment, including obtaining vendor quotations, evaluating alternatives, and selecting preferred suppliers.
  • Coordinates the installation and validation of machinery after approval.
  • Develops preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Studies operations sequence and material flow to recommend optimal staffing levels, functions, and responsibilities.
