Our team in Military Aircraft is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Technical Leader and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY. As a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer, you’ll be at the forefront of both new product development and continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes. You’ll work hands-on with high precision parts, applying advanced CNC programming and machining knowledge to solve challenges and optimize performance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 3+ years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of proven professional experience
  • 3+ CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience with mill-turn machines
  • Strong knowledge of process engineering from raw material to finished product.
  • Hands-on experience with machine setup and operation.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Background in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with machine automation integration
  • Skills in inspection of machined parts
  • Hands-on experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
  • Proficiency in CNC Programming using Siemens NX
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed operation sheets and CNC programs to produce high-precision machined parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Define manufacturing sequences, tooling, gauging, and machine requirements to streamline production.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, production, and vendors to resolve issues and enhance manufacturability.
  • Be hands-on in the production environment, assisting with program prove-outs and troubleshooting.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements, tooling upgrades, and design modifications.
  • Assist in estimating costs and timelines for new proposals and tooling development.
