About The Position

Hologic is seeking a candidate to provide engineering support services including evaluation, purchase, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment and sustainment of existing equipment and processes. This role involves managing external vendors and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery according to specifications. The position offers an opportunity to enhance manufacturing operation skills and knowledge within a high-growth, world-class manufacturing facility producing life-saving medical devices, with potential for future career growth.

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of technical drawings (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) and GD&T
  • Proficient with CAD software such as Solidworks
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming
  • Experience with Vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence
  • Working knowledge of microprocessor controls, utility distribution systems, and process engineering
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing automation systems and best design practices
  • Knowledge of CGMPs, ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs
  • SolidWorks or Pro/E (3D modeling knowledge)
  • MS Office and MS Project
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related industry experience

Nice To Haves

  • LEAN & Six Sigma certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Leading large CapEx automation projects from user requirements to equipment being placed into production
  • Identify and execute on lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for equipment failures and develop equipment level FMEAs
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting and modifying equipment and processes
  • Support equipment mechanics, technicians, and manufacturing leads
  • Create and/or modify equipment maintenance procedures
  • Write and review operating procedures, documents, and reports
  • Perform equipment, process, and product performance testing
  • Support equipment Installation, Operation, and Performance Qualification Validations
  • Review and approve calibration datasheets, work orders, PMs, and change controls
  • Perform process transfers from Engineering to Manufacturing, including processes and equipment training
  • Manage qualifying and changes in raw materials and vendors
  • Perform investigations for non-conformance events
