About The Position

Hologic's Manufacturing Engineering department is seeking a candidate to provide engineering support services. This includes the evaluation, purchase, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment, as well as the sustainment of existing equipment and processes. The role involves managing external vendors and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of technical drawings (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) and GD&T
  • Proficient with CAD software such as Solidworks
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming
  • Experience with Vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence
  • Working knowledge of microprocessor controls, utility distribution systems and process engineering
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing automation systems and best design practice
  • Knowledge of CGMPs, ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs
  • SolidWorks or Pro/E (3D modeling knowledge)
  • MS Office and MS Project
  • BA or BS degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of related industry experience

Nice To Haves

  • LEAN & Six Sigma certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Leading large CapEx automation projects from user requirements to equipment being placed into production
  • Identify and execute on lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform RCAs for equipment failures as well as developing equipment level FMEAs
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, modifying equipment and processes
  • Support equipment mechanics, technicians and manufacturing leads
  • Create and/or modify equipment maintenance procedures
  • Write and review operating procedures, documents and reports
  • Perform equipment, process and product performance testing
  • Support equipment Installation, Operation, and Performance Qualification Validations
  • Review and approve calibration datasheets, work orders, PM’s and change controls
  • Perform process transfers from Engineering to Manufacturing including processes and equipment training
  • Manage qualifying and changes in raw materials, vendors and perform investigations for non-conformance events
