About The Position

Porta-King Building Systems is seeking a skilled electrician to join our growing workforce. The Manufacturing Electrician is responsible for installing, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems in prefabricated security buildings, guard booths, parking booths, and modular buildings manufactured by the company. This position ensures all electrical components are installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), customer specifications, and company quality standards prior to shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Understanding of commercial electrical wiring methods.
  • Ability to bend and install EMT conduit.
  • Experience installing electrical panels, lighting, receptacles, and electrical devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and identify wiring issues.
  • Ability to use multimeters and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Must have the ability to pass a drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical training, apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical wiring, conduit, devices, panels, lighting, and equipment in prefabricated buildings.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and customer specifications.
  • Lay out and install branch circuits, receptacles, switches, lighting fixtures, disconnects, and panelboards.
  • Install and terminate electrical panels and associated components.
  • Install conduit, cable, and wire using accepted electrical practices.
  • Test electrical systems to verify proper operation and code compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and correct wiring issues before buildings are shipped.
  • Verify voltage, continuity, polarity, and grounding using electrical test equipment.
  • Assist with startup and commissioning of completed buildings as needed.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality personnel to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
