About The Position

Tension Corporation is seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Electrical Technician to support and improve our manufacturing operations. This hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex electrical and control systems on high-speed envelope folding and production equipment. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with PLCs and automation systems, and a proactive approach to equipment reliability and continuous improvement. This position also supports system upgrades and manufacturing improvements across multiple plant locations, with occasional travel required.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment working with electromechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with industrial electrical systems and automated equipment.
• Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications (Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Proficiency using electrical test equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, and ohm meters.
• Experience with: 3-phase industrial wiring, AC/DC control systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo drives and motors.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of: NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience supporting high-speed manufacturing or converting equipment.
• Experience with continuous improvement or equipment modernization projects.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control system issues on manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and electrical control systems, primarily Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, hydraulic prints, and mechanical drawings.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance.
• Support electrical systems across multiple plant locations, including occasional travel as needed.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, UL508A, and Lockout/Tagout safety standards.
• Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities accurately.
