About The Position

The Manufacturing CNC Lathe performs both routine and non-routine, moderately complex CNC functions following appropriate procedures for timely and accurate production. This role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes to machine parts to customer requirements in a high-volume environment. The position requires the ability to read basic blueprints, perform basic job shop mathematical calculations, and understand CNC operation, setups, tooling, programming concepts, feeds, and speeds. A basic understanding of true position tolerance and Cartesian coordinate systems is also necessary. Maintaining cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock are essential duties.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years CNC job shop experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Requires frequent bending, reaching and lifting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Nice To Haves

Familiar with CNC operation and possess a basic understanding of set-ups, tooling, and programming concepts, as well as feeds and speeds.
Basic understanding of true position tolerance and Cartesian coordinate systems.
