About The Position

Empower Manufacturing is hiring a CNC Lathe Operator to set up and operate CNC lathes with live tooling in a supportive, team-oriented environment. The role involves precision machining, checking parts against customer drawings and specifications, and safely loading and unloading steel using an overhead hoist or jib crane. Operators work with parts up to 24 inches in diameter and 125 inches in length. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays may be required as needed. Optional weekend overtime is available but is not mandatory. Pay is $20 to $30 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret customer prints and specifications.
Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes with live tooling.
Ability to work with parts up to 24 inches in diameter and 125 inches in length.
Ability to make offsets and perform light program editing.
Ability to measure parts using basic equipment, including micrometers, dial calipers, thread gages, and verniers.
Ability to follow company work orders and instructions.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes with live tooling.
Perform dry-runs on new programs before production.
Inspect parts to ensure they meet customer prints and specifications.
Use an overhead hoist or jib crane to load and unload steel safely and efficiently.
Make machine offsets and perform light program editing.
Measure parts using micrometers, dial calipers, thread gages, and verniers.
Follow company work orders and instructions.
Take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
