About The Position

As a Pallet Repairer, you will build and repair wooden pallets from freshly cut or recycled wood to meet customer needs. This is a piece-rate position, with pay tied to the number of pallets repaired. The listed hourly pay is $15.00 per hour plus $0.36. The position is based in Hammond, Louisiana, and works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The work may involve exposure to outdoor elements, heat, cold, and airborne particulates. Personal protective equipment is required, including eye protection and safety shoes; ear protection is mandatory at several locations. The job requires close, distance, and color vision, as well as good balance and eye-hand-foot coordination. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to regularly lift wooden pallets weighing about 50 pounds.
• Quick hands, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in lumber, warehouse, construction, carpentry, landscaping, or roofing work is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive wood from the saw shop and assemble it with a nail gun along set stringers.
• Stack finished pallets by hand for forklift operators to move to the appropriate areas.
• Follow company procedures to help ensure safety for yourself and others.
• Maintain high quality standards while producing a high volume of finished goods.
