About The Position

ND Fairmont, a division of ND Paper, provides sheet converting solutions by transforming paper rolls into customized sheet sizes. The Manufacturing Assistant supports the production team with quality assurance, packaging, and material handling, helping maintain product quality and efficient workflow. The role involves inspecting finished sheet products, supporting packaging and production equipment loading, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to follow safety procedures and company policies.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and ability to operate hand tools for maintenance tasks.
Comfort working in a warehouse or manufacturing setting with noise and temperature variations.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in manufacturing or production environments.

Responsibilities

Visually and physically inspect finished sheet products against established quality standards.
Identify product defects, inconsistencies, or damage and take corrective actions as needed.
Document inspection results, defects, and corrective actions accurately.
Work with the quality team to uphold and improve quality procedures.
Assist with loading jumbo rolls into production equipment.
Select and load appropriate carton boxes and ream wrappers for packaging.
Repack and rework damaged or non-conforming packages.
Monitor and report packaging-supply inventory levels to prevent shortages.
Ensure packaging materials meet required standards before use.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support efficient operations.
Follow safety guidelines and proper material- and equipment-handling procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
