About The Position

Operate horizontal and manual vertical lathes, milling and grinding machines, VTLs, Jig Bores, Bridgeports, rubber grinding equipment, Prototrack, drill presses, and other special shop equipment to repair parts. Use process travelers, blueprints, parts drawings, manuals, specifications, and verbal directions to determine finished-part dimensions and tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials. Modify parts and materials to improve overall production, test completed equipment to detect and remove defects, and perform maintenance on machinery.

The role requires basic mathematical knowledge, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with decimals and fractions, as well as simple use of formulas and specifications requiring basic interpretation skills. The position has moderate physical demands and frequently involves lifting or moving materials of average weight.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of machining experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with different machine tools and equipment.
• Fluent in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• Basic knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with decimals and fractions.
• Ability to make simple use of formulas and specifications requiring basic interpretation skills.
• Ability to frequently lift or move materials of average weight, including a minimum lift of 25 pounds from floor to waist and 25 pounds from waist to shoulder level, and a minimum pull of 40 pounds.
