About The Position

Safewaze is seeking a manual industrial sewer to join its production team. The role is responsible for the overall appearance and assembly of fall protection equipment, maintaining quality standards based on product specifications and achieving production goals. The operator reads workmanship standards and verbal instructions, assembles products according to standard operating procedures, and operates a heavy-duty three-pedal, single-needle sewing machine. The position also involves preparing thread and bobbins, performing basic machine maintenance, solving problems, following safety guidelines, and keeping the work area clean.

This is a full-time, first-shift position with a schedule of Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Safewaze is a division of Canopy Brands and manufactures and markets fall protection equipment for construction, industrial, solar, wind, tower, energy, and general safety markets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience operating a Juki single-needle sewing machine.
• Ability to read a tape measure for accuracy.
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components.
• Highly ethical, positive, and self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a Singer Class 7 industrial sewing machine.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend workmanship standards and verbal instructions.
• Assemble components and products according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Operate a heavy-duty three-pedal, single-needle sewing machine accurately and efficiently.
• Place spools of thread, insert bobbins, and thread the machine through its guides and components.
• Perform equipment maintenance tasks, such as replacing needles and cleaning the sewing machine.
• Use reasoning to solve problems as they arise and follow safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, neat work area.
