About The Position

CMI Group is seeking a Manual Machinist for their night shift operations. This role involves operating manual equipment to machine metallic or composite parts to aerospace tolerances, interpreting technical drawings, and performing precise inspections. The position requires adherence to strict industry standards and a commitment to continuous improvement. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship or valid permanent resident status is required. This is a full-time position with differential pay for the night shift.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or trade school
Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
Must be able to stand majority of the shift
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required.
Ability to work 40+ hours per week
Sufficient verbal and written communication skills
Good problem solving skills

Responsibilities

Setup and operate manual equipment (mills, lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders, drill presses) to machine metallic or composite parts to aerospace tolerances
Interpret assembly drawings, GD&D specifications and blueprints, design, fabricate, and set customer fixtures and tooling
Perform precise inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs, or optical comparators, ensuring part compliance
Collaborate with engineering to refine machining methods, offer feedback on manufacturability, update control data
Adhere to ISO AS9100 standards, ITAR protocols, PPE use, and logout/tagout
Maintain clean and organized work areas; ensure proper use and care of equipment and tools
Support continuous improvement activities related to machining processes and workflow
