2nd Shift Manual/CNC Machinist(25-35 depending on skill level)
About The Position
Norris Cylinder Company, a division of TriMas Corporation, is seeking individuals for the position of CNC/Manual Machinist for its Longview, Texas manufacturing plant. Norris Cylinder manufactures quality high-pressure steel and acetylene cylinders and is the only steel cylinder manufacturer in North America. Individuals for this position will perform a variety of operational functions that constitute the production, inspection, and distribution of our products and services. Norris Cylinder operates with a promote from within policy for individuals that wish to grow with us. The job purpose is to perform a variety of operational functions that constitute the production, inspection and distribution of products or services for our customers.
Requirements
- At least 2 years CNC or manual machinist experience.
- Ability to work up to 12 hour shifts.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Complies with the work rules and standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites.
- Displays appropriate work ethics in the workplace and group settings which provides a positive work environment with co-workers.
- Refers to work order or procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.
- Performs any specified quality assurance checks designated for each job, function or assignment.
- Assures that all work assigned to position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions.
- Ability to assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
- Ability to assemble parts into sub-units or complete units.
- Ability to use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
- Knowledge of milling, lathe programming, manual lathes, set-up, and operations.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
