About The Position

Exponent is seeking a Managing Scientist for their Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Bowie, MD. This role involves working as part of a team to solve scientific and engineering problems for clients. The position requires managing projects from initiation to completion, communicating updates, ensuring quality and deadlines, and identifying business development opportunities. The role also involves working with government security-related products and projects, presenting findings to clients, supporting on-site activities, attracting new projects and clients, building and leading diverse teams, mentoring technical staff, and overseeing project management and budgets.

Requirements

  • M.S. in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with relevant work experience
  • 6+ years of post-graduation experience working in data analytics or data science
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship and the possession of or ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (required for U.S. Government contracts)
  • Ability to interact with managers, engineers, non-technical personnel, and clients and present technical topics in a cogent and comprehensible manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior problem-solving abilities
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to code data into appropriate graphical formats
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization programs such as Tableau or others
  • Prior government contracting experience
  • Experience with machine learning

Responsibilities

  • Managing projects from initiation to completion
