About The Position

The Managing Director will lead and provide support to transactions being implemented by the Real Estate Strategy & Consulting Group, working closely with office leasing professionals to advise clients on real estate strategy, transaction structuring and occupancy decisions. This individual will play an integral role in evaluating complex transactions, developing financial analyses, summarizing key findings and preparing high-quality presentations for clients and prospective clients.

Requirements

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate results clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five to ten years of work experience.
  • Prior experience in commercial real estate financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models to evaluate prospective real estate transactions, including projected cash flows, occupancy costs, sensitivity analyses, lease-versus-buy comparisons, after-tax, partnership and GAAP impact analyses.
  • Work with the client to assess qualitative and quantitative components of occupancy scenarios, and develop and implement market approach and negotiation strategy.
  • Act as the liaison between the client, landlord, third party consultants (e.g., architects, engineers, attorneys, etc.) and other brokers in managing and executing transactions.
  • Negotiate leases and amendments.
  • Develop charts, tables, graphics and other visual materials that effectively illustrate financial and operational data.
  • Interpret financial results and prepare clear, concise summaries that communicate key findings, assumptions and recommendations.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for business development pitches, RFP responses, strategic assignments and ongoing client requests.
  • Review leases, proposals and other transaction documents; summarize key business terms, financial provisions and potential areas of concern.
  • Conduct tenant, building and market due diligence in support of transaction and portfolio assignments.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
