About The Position

Managing Director, Talent Business Partner (TBP) to advise senior business leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, workforce strategy, and culture. Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Talent Advisory & Development, the role partners closely with Department Heads and leadership teams to shape talent strategies that drive business performance and long-term organizational success. As the lead talent advisor for the portfolio, the successful candidate will influence executive decision-making on leadership, succession, organizational design, workforce planning, and talent risk. The role leads team members and collaborates across Talent Centres of Excellence and corporate functions to deliver integrated talent solutions and enterprise-wide organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Proven senior HR leadership experience partnering with executive leaders in complex, global organizations.
  • 10+ years of HR experience with 5+ years as an HRBP, including at least 2 years of support for C-suite or equivalent senior leaders.
  • Deep expertise in organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align talent strategies to business priorities and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated consulting capability and sound judgment in navigating complex organizational issues.
  • Experience leading organizational and cultural transformation initiatives in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional relationship management, communication, and stakeholder influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience translating data and insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Executive presence, discretion, and ability to operate effectively in high-stakes environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field; advanced degree and/or CHRL/CHRE preferred.
  • Demonstrated alignment with CPP Investments’ Guiding Principles of partnership, high performance, and integrity.

  • Provide oversight for talent programs and governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise talent philosophy and leadership expectations.
  • Leverage workforce analytics and organizational insights to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Coach senior leaders through complex leadership and organizational challenges.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team and contribute to enterprise-wide Talent initiatives.
