About The Position

Infinity Constellation is seeking a Managing Director to found and lead its Pension & Retirement Plan Actuarial business unit. The Managing Director will serve as the credentialed actuary whose sign-off stands behind the work and will lead client development and define the practice’s services. The goal is to build a lean practice that serves more plans per person by using Infinity’s technology platform and AI-backed tools to take over analytical work. The role is entrepreneurial, with responsibility for shaping the service offering, team, and tooling roadmap, and participation in the value created. Pension and retirement plan actuarial services include funding valuations, accounting disclosures, and regulatory reporting for employer-sponsored plans. The work is recurring and regulatory, requiring annual valuations and filings. The Managing Director will work with Infinity’s engineering team to validate calculation approaches, initially running existing third-party actuarial software alongside an Infinity-built alternative, with the aim of retiring the third-party tool once the internal system is trusted.

Requirements

  • Be an Enrolled Actuary or an actuarial team lead holding the credentials required to sign funding valuations.
  • Have deep experience with funding valuations, accounting disclosures, and regulatory reporting for employer-sponsored plans.
  • Bring a portable book of business or have the credibility and relationships to build a client base quickly.
  • Be a senior practitioner ready to build a practice with upside, or an independent practitioner seeking Infinity’s infrastructure, tooling, and capital.
  • Be based in the United States; Infinity’s business units currently serve US clients only.

Nice To Haves

  • A clear point of view on where AI-driven workflows can replace analyst labor and how to validate the results.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for rebuilding the firm itself rather than building software to sell to existing firms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pension & Retirement Plan Actuarial business unit, including strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance.
  • Serve as the credentialed actuary of record and sign off on funding valuations and related work.
  • Originate and grow the client base by bringing a portable book of business or building one through credibility and relationships.
  • Define the scope of the service offering, from actuarial consulting to a broader bundled model.
  • Identify which parts of the work, such as data preparation, funding and accounting reports, and form completion, should move to AI-driven workflows first.
  • Work with Infinity’s engineering team to validate the calculation engine, including comparing third-party software outputs with an Infinity-built alternative.
  • Hire and develop analysts and supporting staff as the client book grows while keeping the team lean.
  • Collaborate with other Infinity business unit leaders on cross-selling to shared clients.

Benefits

  • Market base salary.
  • Uncapped variable compensation tied to revenue generated.
  • An equity grant in Infinity.
  • Infinity’s platform and teams handle HR, accounting, and finance.
  • Engineering and product resources dedicated to developing tools for the practice.
  • Access to a growing network of practices serving overlapping clients.
