About The Position

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Managing Director, National Sales Manager to join our team! This position will build and lead a best-in-class Sponsor Finance business development team by continually improving the strategies and tactics utilized to drive new business development across the Sponsor Finance footprint.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of thirteen (13) years of bank/finance company business development and three (3) years of Sponsor Finance business development experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA)
  • Completion of a respected banking school

Responsibilities

  • Create and foster a high performing sales culture driven by consistent and disciplined bankers
  • Coach bankers on how Sponsor Finance will approach the market, develop a routine for market visits, networking events, and relationship building to drive opportunities from our Sponsor relationships
  • Ensure the team is knowledgeable around all aspects of our credit policy and legal documents
  • Ensure each team member has an appropriate strategy to cover their markets
  • Establish aggressive production goals
  • Ensure each team member is on track to achieve their production goals at all times
  • Achieve production goals
