About The Position

The Managing Director, Leadership Development (MDLD) is responsible for coaching a cohort of corps members (CMs) to lead transformational classrooms, grounded in the organization's universal program model and the region's 2030 vision. This role supports CMs from their initial engagement with Teach For America, aiding their growth in instructional practice and leadership identity while they navigate the broader ecosystem of schools, partners, and communities. Through individualized coaching, data-informed decision-making, and strong partnerships, the MDLD ensures CMs drive meaningful student outcomes and emerge with clarity about their long-term impact as alumni. The role involves collaborating with regional and national partners on community-building, facilitating coaching spaces, and contributing to the design and execution of practicum experiences. Additionally, the MDLD partners with the regional team to develop a CM placement strategy aligned with 2030 goals and builds relationships with schools and stakeholders. The position utilizes tools like CLASS, student surveys, and achievement data to help CMs reflect on their practice and create personalized learning plans. The MDLD also implements the universal program model by managing systems and analyzing data to inform strategy and ensure compliance. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship-builder with leadership coaching experience, an impact-centered approach, and a systems-level understanding of the CM ecosystem, skilled in managing multiple work streams, using data for decisions, and working both collaboratively and independently.
