We are seeking a Managing Director of Engineering who will be responsible for steering, growing, and inspiring our team and clients. This role requires a natural builder who is driven to create something innovative. The ideal candidate will have extensive technology leadership experience, a hands-on engineering background, and a proven track record in supporting rapid business growth. They will also possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to cultivate strategic partnerships, and a passion for driving excellence and adherence to best practices.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the definition and implementation of the technical vision at Able
- Codify work methodologies and refine technical focus
- Establish success metrics and develop a growth agenda for continuous improvement
- Identify emerging technologies and trends aligned with business objectives
- Foster innovation and maintain a competitive edge
- Drive partner (client) engagements and ignite business growth
- Offer thoughtful solutions during board-level conversations
- Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships and identify strategic partnership opportunities
- Inspire and provide guidance to a team of engineers
- Resolve project-related challenges
- Drive excellence and adherence to best practices
- Review code and have technical discussions with CTO
- Present to non-technical executives
- Support rapid business growth

Requirements
- 10+ years of technology leadership experience
- Extensive hands-on engineering background, ideally in digital agency and enterprise settings
- Comfortable reviewing code or having technical discussions with a CTO and presenting to non-technical executives
- Proven success in supporting rapid business growth
- Relentless pursuit of understanding and learning, applying newfound knowledge to work and life
