The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and be able to plan many different kinds of operational activities; and must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business and motivate personnel. The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s baggage operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. This position requires an individual to be extremely organized, have a keen attention to detail and the flexibility to work with different aspects of a business.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent airline industry experience as director or operations manager
  • Critical thinker with outstanding data analysis and performance/operation metrics, organization, and planning skills to target improvement of baggage operations activities
  • Excellent interpersonal/ people skills, communication with all levels of personnel
  • High level of prioritizing tasks with the ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibility
  • In depth knowledge of AAG /Airline Industry budgeting, diverse business functions, industry latest trends and best practices, legal rules, guidelines, principles, policies, and procedures desired
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and various business software skills
  • Ability to plan, implement and manage the overall long-term business success strategy by setting strategic operational goals and KPIs with upper management
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to twist, turn, and reach at desk while working with PC and telephone
  • Must be visible in baggage operations areas
  • Must speak audibly and clearly communicate with employees, peers, and managers
  • Must be able to select, train, motivate, evaluate, counsel, and terminate subordinates
  • Must work well under stress of meeting deadlines
  • Must work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language

Responsibilities

  • Streamlining and improving business processes
  • Spearheading long-term business planning
  • Analyzing the effectiveness of existing business functions
  • Managing procedures and coaching people to ensure the business is well-coordinated and productive
  • Planning many different kinds of operational activities
  • Discovering the most efficient ways to run the business and motivate personnel
  • Safeguarding and augmenting the efficiency of the company’s baggage operations
  • Reviewing financial information and adjusting operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Managing procurement processes and coordinating material and resources allocation relative to baggage operations
  • Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Providing constructive feedback to personnel from different departments
  • Evaluating regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and applying improvements
  • Developing policies and procedures and encouraging adherence
  • Revising and/or formulating policies and promoting their implementation
  • Overseeing customer support processes and organizing them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Managing relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Developing and implementing guidelines for employee evaluations, recruitment, promotion and attrition
