About The Position

WIPO for Creators (WFC) is a consortium led by WIPO in partnership with a diverse range of organizations, companies, institutions and individuals. Its mission is to raise awareness and deepen understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights among creators. WFC aims to empower creators with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure creators are fairly acknowledged and compensated for their work, regardless of their geographic, cultural, or economic backgrounds. The Consortium pursues its goals through initiatives such as the Creators Learn Intellectual Property (CLIP / goclip.org) platform, an online resource designed to inspire, inform, and enhance creators' understanding of their rights. The incumbent provides strategic and operational leadership for WIPO for Creators (WFC), guiding the vision and implementation of the program, including the growth and impact of the CLIP platform across diverse creative sectors. The role includes coordinating governance processes, including the Advisory Board, leading multi-disciplinary team, mobilizing external resources through fundraising and partnerships, overseeing platform development and releases, and ensuring measurable outcomes that delivers tangible benefits to creators globally.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree, in information systems, project management, business administration or equivalent. A first-level university degree plus two years of relevant experience in addition to the experience requested below may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • At least seven years' relevant experience in the field of product, program or project management.
  • At least two years of experience dealing with intellectual property topics within the creative industries.
  • Proven experience in managing dealing multiple complex workstreams simultaneously at the organizational level.
  • Proven experience in coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in fundraising and donor relations management.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Certificate in Service Management.
  • Certificate in Agile Product Development.
  • Proven experience managing digital products in an agile delivery fashion.
  • Experience in managing multicultural teams, working both on-site and remotely.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as Miro, Jira.
  • Good understanding of the creative industries, notably in music, visual arts, publishing, and the audiovisual sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and operational leadership, ensuring effective implementation of the CLIP program by contributing to the definition of priorities, allocation of resources, and management of risks, in lined with established objectives and frameworks.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the WFC team across technical, content, outreach, and digital/product areas, ensuring UX/UI alignment; oversee CLIP’s development and maintenance by driving roadmap execution, including requirements definition, prioritization, implementation of features in compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate continuous improvements to the CLIP platform, and the development and release of new creative sectors, in close collaboration with partners and relevant WIPO units, ensuring alignment with program objectives and timelines.
  • Organize and facilitate internal consultations and ensure the timely review and clearance of contractors' deliverables in accordance with the approved WFC strategy and Financial Regulations and Rules.
  • Administer supplier and partner relationships, as well as program resources including the biennial regular budgets, and WIPO for Creators Funds-in-Trust; prepare and manage procurement actions for goods and services; monitor contractual deliverables and track performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Develop and implement integrated promotional, outreach, fundraising, and marketing activities to enhance program visibility and impact, while coordinating closely with industry bodies and relevant WIPO units on content development and product evolution.
  • Manage stakeholder relations by ensuring timely responses to external enquiries, and represent WIPO for Creators at external meetings, events, and relevant fora.
  • Oversee the organization of the Advisory Board and Annual meetings and serve as the Secretary as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as required.

Benefits

  • Annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and pension fund deductions) in US dollars and a post adjustment.
  • Post adjustment multiplier (cost of living allowance) is variable and subject to change (increase or decrease) without notice.
  • Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations.
  • Initial period of two years, renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.
