About The Position

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social drivers of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in four Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life. The Weather Response Shelter Manager will implement the day-to-day management and oversight of shelter operations. The shelters are based on weather events, such as extreme cold temperatures or Winter Contingency, so operation will be spontaneous and temporary. This position provides leadership, direction and administrative oversight in advancing and supporting Aspire's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. This is a grant-funded position. This grant-funded position requires flexibility, as it extends beyond the standard 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week, including mandatory overnight shifts on certain days the shelter is active.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college/university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education with two (2) years of related experience; an Associate's Degree with with three (3) years of related experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years of related experience required
  • One (1) year of experience leading a team required

  • Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism
  • Must be willing to work hours outside the normal 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, 40 hours work week; this position will be required to work overnight on certain days the shelter is active
  • Must be able to respond appropriately and effectively in crisis situations by using good judgment and following Aspire protocols
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
  • Must exhibit ability to work with targeted population, and possess knowledge of and ability to relate to community resources
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and be flexible
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
  • Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
  • Must have reliable transportation to transport self/others and to attend trainings and/or meetings

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare and/or non-profit experience and a solid understanding of the behavioral health field highly preferred
