About The Position

The Manager-Waste Management Program is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s waste management program. This role ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements while supporting organizational safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. This role serves as a subject matter expert and primary operational authority for waste management activities and represents the organization in regulatory and accreditation matters. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related field
  • Minimum three years of experience in management of waste and environmental regulatory compliance
  • Minimum three years of experience managing environmental health and safety programs with professional and technical staff
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards for Waste Management, Life Safety, Emergency Management, Hazardous Waste and Environmental Safety related to the environment of care as well as other regulatory agency requirements
  • Able to read, write and speak with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access
  • Able to operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position
  • Able to safety operate equipment and instruments related to duties
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to provide leadership
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies

  • Valid Driver's License at time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Environmental Health, Fire and Life Safety or Emergency Management
  • Certification as Industrial Hygiene, Hazardous Materials Manager, Safety Professional, or Registration as Professional Engineer or Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Emergency Management
