The Warehouse Manager may plan, direct, and monitor activities in the warehouse including but not limited to shipping, receiving, storing, packing, safety of goods, employee relations, inventory control, and coordination of merchandise. Manages, supports and controls warehouse activities in their designated area to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing material goods (raw materials, finished products, tool and packaging materials). Ensures that their designated areas work together across shifts and with areas within the warehouse so that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities, plan, schedule and assist in coordinating delivery schedules with shippers and customers or that incoming material is inspected for conformity with order specifications and checked for defects. Responsible for development, counseling, coaching and annual reviews of the members of the department under his/her assigned area of responsibility. Develop and recommend improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs for their particular areas. Manage the warehouse staff activities to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met. Monitor staff to ensure that all machines and equipment are operated in a safe manner. May be required to analyze trends, solve problems, train and motivate and develop their team. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs the work of others. Other duties as assigned.
