About The Position

SickKids Foundation, a leader in child health research funding for over 50 years, is seeking a Manager, Transformational Giving & Hospital Partnerships. This role is crucial for advancing high-value philanthropic opportunities and strengthening the strategic alignment between the Foundation and The Hospital for Sick Children. Reporting to the Director, Transformational Giving & Hospital Partnerships, the Manager will support the coordination, management, and execution of complex, multi-stakeholder transformational giving strategies. The role also contributes to the Foundation's mandate as a strategic partner to the hospital by advancing fundraising priorities and enabling philanthropic opportunities that support SickKids’ mission. The Manager will also enable fundraising success across the Foundation by aligning teams, translating hospital fundraising priorities into compelling donor strategies, and ensuring disciplined execution in a dynamic campaign environment. Additionally, this role will manage a small portfolio of donors and prospects, contributing directly to revenue growth and pipeline advancement for the 'Heal the Future' campaign.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of major and transformational gift fundraising strategies and donor lifecycle management
  • Experience managing and advancing high-value donor opportunities within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong understanding of hospital foundations, academic health science centers, or complex institutional fundraising contexts
  • Proven ability to develop donor strategies and translate organizational priorities into compelling fundraising opportunities, funding proposals, and engagement strategies
  • High-level communication, relationship management and influencing skills, with comfort working alongside senior leaders (e.g., CEOs, CDOs, VPs, Directors), hospital partners, volunteers, and fundraising professionals.
  • Strong strategic thinking and project leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong pipeline management, coordination and execution skills, with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Experience with CRM systems, reporting tools and performance tracking to support fundraising strategy and decision-making

Responsibilities

  • Tactical advancement and execution of the transformational gifts portfolio, ensuring timely follow-up, clear next steps, and coordinated progress across senior fundraisers, hospital partners, and volunteers to move opportunities forward.
  • Maintain transformational gifts pipeline governance by monitoring opportunity progression, identifying risks and bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to improve donor movement and fundraising performance.
  • Develop briefing materials, reports, and strategic communications to support donor engagement, pipeline management, and executive decision-making for the transformational gifts portfolio.
  • Lead tactical preparation for transformational gifts meetings and drive post-meeting execution to maintain momentum across complex donor opportunities.
  • Serve as a strategic resource to fundraising teams across the Foundation, translating clinical, research, education, and organizational fundraising priorities into compelling donor-focused funding opportunities with clear donor value propositions for opportunities <$1 million.
  • Partner cross-functionally with fundraising teams and hospital stakeholders to strategically align on fundraising priorities, reduce bottlenecks, and improve decision-making velocity to advance donor strategies and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain transformational gifts pipeline reports, financial tracking and performance reports to monitor progress against campaign targets and hospital priorities.
  • Support governance structures, working groups, and committees that strengthen alignment between hospital priorities and fundraising strategy.
  • Manage emerging initiatives within the hospital partnerships portfolio that strengthen alignment between the hospital and Foundation, coordinating stakeholders, deliverables, and follow-up to maintain momentum and drive progress on fundraising initiatives.
  • Independently manage a small portfolio of donors, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts to generate incremental philanthropic revenue.
