About The Position

This position is for an Individual Giving Manager at Wisconsin Public Radio, part of Wisconsin Public Media. The role focuses on engaging high-value donors, nurturing relationships, and supporting the mission of public broadcasting. The manager will oversee fundraising systems, manage prospect portfolios, and contribute to the growth of the Major Individual Gifts unit. This role involves administering fundraising software, managing portfolios, conducting donor research, and collaborating on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency, organizational skills, and strong interpersonal communication abilities, with an emphasis on database management and donor data analysis. This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position with ongoing/renewable employment. It operates within core business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) but may require some nights and weekends, and responsiveness outside standard business hours. The position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days per week in Madison, WI, with potential for future flexibility. In-person meetings, events, and occasional travel may also be required. Remote work necessitates an approved flexible work arrangement (FWA), including personal high-speed internet and phone. Transportation to the work location is the employee's responsibility.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a database (such as a CRM) and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated ability executing administrative functions such as mail merges, organizing and maintaining files, financial reporting, and mass communications.
  • Experience writing clear, donor-focused communications.
  • Established work history in one-on-one customer relationship building and customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fundraising development (Understanding of systems of portfolio-based moves management including donor research, cultivation, and stewardship methods, processes, and best practices).
  • Experience overseeing development and delivery of marketing and communication materials.
  • Track record of effective project management and process/systems improvement.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and/or executing event logistics or scheduling.
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Manages execution of Individual Gifts program administration, maintaining the quality of donor database records and standards of accuracy, timeliness, and efficiencies of data entry, donor communications, and gift acknowledgement processes
  • Collects, prepares, and analyzes donor information and event data and provides subsequent recommendations for improvement and enhancement
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for event and program activities, facilities, participants, and vendors adhering to established timelines and expectations
  • Assists with the design, development, and delivery of marketing and communication materials and other event publications to promote development events and programs
  • Assists with the development of strategic planning initiatives and objectives, program budgets, and monitors activity to ensure adherence to established guidelines
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders at meetings and activities to advocate for and promote the interests of the unit
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of mid-level gifts ($1000 - $2,500) to reach program funding goals
