Manager Trainee $48-$50K/Yr ($16/Hr+OT+Bonus)
About The Position
84 Lumber is hiring a full-time, entry-level Manager Trainee to prepare candidates for future leadership roles through hands-on training across all aspects of store operations. Training includes classroom, online, and practical learning in sales and customer service, store operations and inventory management, blueprint reading and estimation, forklift operation and certification, business management, and Microsoft Office. Trainees must complete the assigned learning plan and course of study within the required timeframe and be willing to relocate for a management position. Promotion may be possible within 6–12 months based on performance and position availability, potentially leading to increased annual pay. The company reports that many trainees progress to General Manager roles within 3–4 years. No prior experience is required; Microsoft Office experience is preferred. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Availability for a full-time schedule of 48 or more hours per week, including overtime.
- Willingness to relocate for a management position.
- Dedication and willingness to learn; no prior experience is required.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, and lift up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in wet, humid, hot, or cold weather and around machinery and airborne particles.

Responsibilities
- Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
- Learn store operations, including material and supply-chain flow, inventory, stock, and merchandising.
- Create material estimates and lists for building projects by reading blueprints.
- Learn safe material and equipment handling, including forklift operation and certification.
- Handle or learn payroll, invoicing, inventory, POS systems, and financial analysis.
- Interpret and analyze common financial reports.
- Respond to common customer inquiries and complaints.
- Complete the assigned learning plan and course of study within the required timeframe.
