Manager, Test Engineering
About The Position
The Manager of Test Engineering position must be able to drive fellow test engineers with testing and measurement of devices and modules to characterize performance in support of production test program development. Partner with lead design engineers and operations to identify issues in new products. Develop procedures and documentation to support production testing and new product introduction. This role will include leading production efforts by characterizing products throughout the manufacturing process, training world class talent, managing staff to support production testing on time and on budget, working with staff to ensure appropriate career advancement opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Strong technical understanding of RF and digital hardware architectures, equipment, tools, programming, software, and design.
- In-depth ability to design and critique complex electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
- Experience in automated test systems to include hardware, programming, and calibrating.
- Understanding of metrology, sources of measurement error, and uncertainty analysis.
- In-depth experience with advanced test hardware integration.
- Analyze best practices to improve product, processes, or services. Recommends process, product, and/or service improvements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay complex testing methodologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar studies.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in a related field.

- Previous management and technical lead experience preferred.
- Familiarity with the latest technologies for testing and industry trends.
- Fluent understanding mix-signal technology and systems (amplifier, A/D, D/A, digital logic, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Establish operational objectives in manufacturing test for a variety of products from discrete devices to modules.
- Lead team to facilitate new products transitions from engineering to manufacturing.
- Develop and maintain ATE software solutions used in manufacturing.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams during development to communicate future test requirements.
- Delegate assignments to other test engineers.
- Provide mentorship, work to define goals for career development.
- Develop and coordinate activities focused on testing of products and systems, analyze data and report on findings to team.
- Partner with operations team to provide feedback on requirements, root cause test failures, cost, and quality to design and manufacturing engineers.
- Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Anticipate business and regulatory issues, recommends product, process, or service improvements.
