About The Position

UPM Pulp in North America is looking for a Technical Marketing and Services Manager to join their team. The position will be remote/home office-based in the United States. This position offers an opportunity to work in an International Sales & Marketing environment, focusing on meeting customer needs, providing professional technical service, and creating customer value through technical collaborations. The role involves working proactively on technical topics with current and potential pulp customers, cultivating technical relationships, providing technical recommendations, and leading qualification efforts to support strategic sales growth in North America. It also supports the successful use of UPM Pulp products through technical knowledge of multiple fibers and various end uses, with a focus on the premium tissue end use. The role drives technical collaborations for process optimization, cooperates with product managers and the global TMS team for product development, and stays close to customers to understand relevant tissue technology, quality development, and new product development needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Paper and Pulp Technology, or equivalent
5+ years of hands-on premium tissue production, product development, or tissue chemical supplier experience
Experience with structured TAD premium tissue
Self-motivated, with excellent teamwork and communication skills, and a willingness to take initiative
Customer-centric work ethic, determined to maintain excellent professional relations with clients based on transparency and trust
Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and in writing)
Flexible and ready to travel
Fluent in both spoken and written English
Authorized to work within the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

Work proactively on technical topics with our current and potential pulp customers
Cultivate technical relationships
Provide technical recommendations
Lead qualification efforts to support strategic sales growth in North America
Support successful use of UPM Pulp products through technical knowledge of multiple fibers and various end uses (premium tissue end use focus)
Utilize the UPM resources available in our mills, R&D, and global TMS teams
Drive technical collaborations with customers to deliver optimization in their process
Cooperate with product managers and the global TMS team for product development
Stay close to customers to understand relevant tissue technology, quality development, and new product development needs
