Manager, Technical Maintenance
About The Position
As a Manager, Technical Maintenance at Helion, you will build and lead the team responsible for keeping critical manufacturing equipment safe, reliable, and production-ready as we scale high-voltage capacitor and integrated module production. You will set the operating model for maintenance, develop technicians, and establish practical systems for uptime, troubleshooting, spares, and preventive work. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build a strong team while staying close to the equipment, failure modes, and day-to-day execution. You will work closely with manufacturing, process, controls, and equipment engineering teams to support prototype and production lines, improve equipment performance, and help transition maintenance from reactive response to scalable production reliability. This is an onsite role located at our Everett, WA office.
Requirements
- 7+ years leading maintenance, equipment, or technical teams in large and complex manufacturing, production, or high-automation environments
- Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and automated equipment troubleshooting
- Experience building technician capability through hiring, coaching, standards, and structured skill development
- Experience implementing PMs, CMMS, spares strategies, vendor management, budget controls, CAPEX planning, root cause analysis, TPM, or predictive maintenance practices
- Track record improving uptime, OEE, equipment reliability, or production stability
- Ability to operate with urgency and rigor in a fast-moving environment moving from prototype builds to higher-volume production
- Proven ability to build standards, processes, and team culture in a growing organization
Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing maintenance team focused on safety, ownership, and reliable execution
- Establish maintenance systems for PMs, CMMS, spares, vendor support, budgets, CAPEX planning, work planning, and equipment documentation
- Drive uptime, OEE, and equipment reliability through TPM, SPC, root cause analysis, and practical corrective actions
- Support hands-on troubleshooting of electromechanical, controls, and automated production equipment when issues escalate
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to commission equipment, stabilize processes, and improve production readiness
- Create a maintenance culture that raises technical capability, reinforces standards, and scales with production growth
