Manager, Talent Development Innovation

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG)White Plains, NY
$80,000 - $140,000Hybrid

About The Position

In 2014, VEG was born with a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most by challenging norms and fixing the ER experience. Since then, we’ve expanded rapidly, with hospitals nationwide open 24/7/365, and created an ER experience that focuses on what our pets and pet parents really need. We’ve done the same for our people (VEGgies), finding a way to say YES so they are empowered to achieve great things, grow in unexpected ways, and find a place where they truly belong. We’re rethinking emergency care from every angle—from how we run our hospitals to how we support the people working inside them. That’s where our headquarters team comes in. Whether building technology to make our hospitals more efficient, recruiting and growing incredible VEGgies, or bringing our brand to life through marketing, our VQ (VEG Headquarters) team makes it all possible—ensuring our hospitals and people have everything they need to help pets and their families. VEG is a 2025 and 2026 certified Great Place to Work®. At VEG, we find a way to say YES - and this role brings that mindset to every experience connected to a VEG training program. Execution Operations (ExOps) is building a more consistent and connected way to support the learners who attend, the instructors who teach, and the venues that host. As VEG continues to grow and expand its training programs, we need an experience owner who can make every interaction feel thoughtful, reliable, and unmistakably VEG. As Training Experience Manager, you’ll build a training experience that makes learners feel prepared, instructors feel supported, and every program easier to deliver over time. In this role, you’ll own the relationships and operating rhythms behind the experience, identify where friction exists, and continuously improve how ExOps supports training as VEG grows. Your impact will be a more trusted, consistent, and scalable training experience from enrollment through delivery.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in operations, hospitality, event management, client/customer success, or a high-volume relationship-driven environment where accuracy, timing, and communication matter
  • Demonstrated experience owning a relationship or experience function over time — not just completing tasks, but building trust with the people or partners on the other end
  • Experience managing complex schedules, communications, deadlines, and exceptions across multiple stakeholders with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong relationship and communication skills — comfortable being the consistent point of contact for learners, instructors, and vendors alike
  • Comfort operating in a building-phase environment where process doesn't always exist yet
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, scheduling tools, roster systems, CRM systems, or similar operational platforms; VEG-specific tools and training context can be learned
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time for on-site, in-person exposure to cultivate relationships necessary for optimal experience management.

Nice To Haves

  • Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives
  • Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team’s’ accomplishments
  • Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results
  • Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Own the Learner Journey: Manage end-to-end enrollment across ExOps-supported training programs, including rosters, confirmations, waitlists, scheduling, and pre-program communications, so learners know what to expect and arrive prepared.
  • Coordinate Critical Milestones: Partner with program owners, the TD Operations Director, learners, and instructors to ensure learner milestones - including orientation - happen accurately and on time. Program owners will continue to own the program-specific content of their orientations.
  • Create an Instructor Experience: Serve as a consistent point of contact for instructors, coordinate scheduling needs between instructors and program owners, and build relationships that make instructors feel supported and excited to teach again.
  • Build Trusted Venue Partnerships: Own venue and vendor relationships for in-person programs, developing long-term partnerships that make logistics more reliable and effective over time rather than relying on transactional, one-time coordination.
  • Orchestrate Program Logistics: Coordinate travel, materials, schedules, and pre-event communication for learners and instructors so every program is set up to run smoothly.
  • Be the Connective Tissue: Serve as the primary operational point of contact across learners, instructors, venue partners, program owners, and ExOps - keeping information moving, expectations aligned, and no one surprised.
  • Deliver Reliable Handoffs: Provide Learning Tech with accurate, confirmed rosters ahead of established deadlines and ensure downstream partners have the information they need to support each program.
  • Improve the Experience: Document enrollment, instructor, venue, and logistics workflows; identify recurring friction; and strengthen the processes that make the training experience more consistent and scalable over time.
