About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead and manage a select group of Experienced and Lead Systems Engineers (LSEs) that serve as the senior technical authorities responsible for systems engineering execution across platforms, baselines, and programs. The manager oversees all technical activities with full accountability for scope, schedule adherence, labor forecasting, bidding, and lifecycle execution. As their leader, you will build and mentor the team and establish relationships with senior program and functional leaders to ensure systems engineering best practices are followed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of leading projects and/or task teams in the integration of systems and/or subsystems in airborne and/or Lab environments experience.
  • Graduate degree with seven (7) years of leading projects and/or task teams in the integration of systems and/or subsystems in airborne and/or Lab environments experience.
  • In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of leading projects and/or task teams in the integration of systems and/or subsystems in airborne and/or Lab environments experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership role with indirect/direct reports, or project/program leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical leadership and systems engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in engineering tools, requirements and task management.
  • Must have an active Top Secret with SCI security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework and/or experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, systems analysis and design, system performance modeling, integration and/or project management, and/or model-based systems engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches, particularly chief engineers, project engineers, and program managers.
  • Provide input into new products/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Establish and maintain process, engineering standards, and contract fulfillment.
  • Oversee technical planning, design reviews, integration, and technical decision-making, and engaging in day-to-day program execution as warranted.
  • Forecast Systems Engineering Manpower needs based on Program and Potential demand forecast; Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans.
  • Establish training requirements for continued professional development of the team to meet business goals.
