About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Systems Engineer Manager 2 Functional Homeroom Manager to join our team in El Segundo. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct. This role will be a combination of 80% technical SOW and 20% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned -Value and performance measurement baseline concepts
  • Currently briefed to and supporting applicable program statement of work.
  • Currently reporting to a functional homeroom within the Systems Engineering directorate
  • Experience leading a team or project
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing functional leadership and direction to a section of multi-disciplined engineers (/technicians if applicable) (10-15 personnel) including building an engineering culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation.
  • Coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs.
  • Managing team member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts.
  • Special assignments/data calls in support of the functional homeroom
  • Driving compliance with policies and procedures including timecards, safety, security, property management, training, and configuration control.
