Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, nursing, or related field, or 5+ years of experience in surgical and/or procedural services operations
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a healthcare related field
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or BLS certification from the American Red Cross or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross or Allina in-house ACLS training (within 60 days)
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of employees and department.
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of service quality of direct reports.
  • Utilizes team concepts and principles to create cohesiveness and optimal outcomes in surgical services.
  • Evaluates the work environment and takes action to resolve conflict.
  • Interviews, hires and coordinates orientation of new staff.
  • Evaluates performance and provides action plan when necessary.
  • Analyzes employee engagement/experience and works with leadership team to develop, implement and evaluate effectiveness of action plan.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of current labor agreements.
  • Designs work processes and directs work performance to be in compliance with all rules, regulations, accreditation and laws that apply.
  • Assist administration and leadership in developing operational budgets for surgical service department.
  • Organize data and budget information.
  • Provide input for strategic planning, forecasting and equipment acquisitions.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for new technology and services.
  • Evaluate and communicate surgical services material resources, systems, processes and outcomes to provide optimal patient care delivery.
  • Manage facility design integration and collaborates with facilities staff on construction projects.
  • Integrates continuous quality improvement efforts in all work.
  • Facilitates multidisciplinary work groups to promote integrated systems for surgical services.
  • Provides and/or coordinates education and training related to new equipment, supplies and technology for affected staff.
  • Demonstrates understanding of role in developing and maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Assesses effectiveness of action taken to improve safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
