About The Position

The Manager, Supply Planning, leads the development and execution of replenishment strategies to optimize inventory levels and ensure seamless product availability. About the team: The fresh meat and seafood supply planning team manages the flow of fresh inventory across distribution centers and clubs. Collaborating with merchants, suppliers, and replenishment partners, the team ensures key metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory levels, and product presentation are achieved. Responsibilities include order management, forecasting, and supplier coordination. Team members maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure supply reliability and operational efficiency. Their efforts support Sam’s Club’s commitment to consistently delivering quality products to members while optimizing supply chain performance through data analysis, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in supply chain management, including replenishment planning and logistics coordination.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data analysis tools to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Experience managing supplier performance and resolving supply issues through effective communication and escalation protocols.
  • Financial acumen to interpret profit and loss statements and support business case development.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, finance, and operations teams to optimize inventory and supply chain efficiency.
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethical standards, and fostering a culture of accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze merchandise sales data and industry trends to inform supply planning decisions and optimize inventory levels.
  • Develop replenishment plans in collaboration with Merchandising, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure product availability.
  • Monitor supplier performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions to maintain supply chain efficiency.
  • Leverage data analytics tools to identify root causes of supply issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional partners to align strategies and resolve operational challenges.
  • Support financial planning by analyzing profit and loss impacts related to supply planning activities.
